David's career to date has included work as a Musical Director, an orchestrator, a keyboard player and a producer in theatre, radio, television and in the studio. As a musical director David has worked with Riverdance – The Show and three touring productions worldwide (Abhann Productions Ltd), Fame – The Musical, (and national tour as production director), The Voice of Ireland, currently airing on RTÉ One (RTÉ and Shinawil) and Extreme Rhythm, a Wexford based percussion ensemble on their showcase Primal (Wexford Opera House).
As a producer David has worked on I, Keano!, The Album for EMI in 2007 having previously orchestrated the live show (Lane Productions), Riverdance – Live at Radio City Music Hall New York (DVD) and Tommy Fleming’s 2010 album Going Back. He collaborated as co-composer on the soundtrack for the cartoon series Zombie Hotel which was broadcast worldwide, including in the UK Australia, Canada, France, Russia, Europe and America in 2006.
Film writing credits include Circle of Friends, Some Mother’s Son, (Musical Associate), The Sun, Moon and Stars (Blue Light Productions) and Up The Country (Asylum Productions) and he has provided soundtracks for several documentaries by Kairos Productions. David has provided orchestrations for (and performed with) both the RTÉ Concert Orchestra and the National Symphony Orchestra. He has studied piano, violin, viola, clarinet, chamber music, orchestra, choir, theory and harmony at the Royal Irish Academy of Music for over 18 years, where he was awarded the Coulson scholarship, He was awarded a Distinction by both U.C.L.A. and Screen Training Ireland for the first two modules of the U.C.L.A. film scoring programme.
