Hugh Dorsey was an American lawyer who was notable as the prosecuting attorney in the Leo Frank trial of 1913. He was also a politician, a member of the Democratic Party who was twice elected as the Governor of Georgia (1917–1921), and jurist, who served for more than a decade as a superior court judge (1935–1948) in Atlanta.
Kevin has been a member of KMS since 1997 and has taken on several roles with the society over the last few years including ‘Oliver’ (Oliver!), ‘Peter’ (Jesus Christ Superstar), ‘Will Parker’ (Oklahoma!), ‘Fagin’ (Oliver!), ‘John’ (The Hired Man), ‘Seymour’ (Little Shop of Horrors), ‘Frederick’ (Pirates of Penzance), ‘Michael Gillane’ (Michael Collins - A Musical Drama), and "Sweeney" (Sweeney Todd).
Kevin has also appeared with Oyster Lane in Wexford as ‘Lumiére’ (Beauty and the Beast) and with Saint Michael’s Theatre MS in New Ross as ‘Roger de Bris’ (The Producers), ‘Freddy’ (Chess) and as ‘Juan Peron’ (Evita). Kevin has been nominated for the AIMS awards in 2008 (Best Comedian – ‘Will Parker’) and 2010 (Best Actor - ‘Fagin’) and in 2013 Kevin won the award of Best Comedian for his portrayal of ‘Roger de Bris’ in The Producers.
Kevin is a primary school teacher at Saint Mary’s National School in Thomastown and also works as a tutor at Jesters Stage Academy in Kilkenny.
